🏈 The Weekly Blitz: The Prophecy (The GIST’s version)
From The GIST (hi@thegistsports.com)

Leveling The Playing Field
Why revamp the playbook when you can just outsource your team’s struggling offense to an Etsy witch? It worked for New England Patriots quarterback (QB) Drake Maye, who exploded for three touchdowns (TDs) in Week 4 after tossing six interceptions through the first three weeks.
Which NFL icon wore it best?
We love a collab, and this one took the cake in Week 4. Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai rocked a custom jacket gifted to him by Brenda, a Chicago sports fan battling breast cancer who just so happens to own the exact same one. Twinsies.
- The “look good, feel good, play good” mantra paid dividends: Monangai recorded 146 yards and two TDs in the Bears’ 23–12 Week 4 win over the NY Jets.

💭 If you could gaze into the future

The GIST: And then there were three. Only the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Minnesota Vikings remained undefeated after Week 4 — but do their unblemished records actually represent their long-term potential? Let’s gaze into the crystal ball.
💛 Kansas City Chiefs: Like it or not, KC is unquestionably back. QB Patrick Mahomes was already one of the best to ever sling it, and now the backfield boasts a genuine rushing threat in reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III, who ran for a career-high 177 yards and two TDs on Sunday.
- Plus, they’ll likely re-employ wide receiver (WR) Tyreek Hill after Tyquan Thornton’s injury. The ethically dicey decision will unfortunately make them an even better football team…if Hill’s healthy.
- After their Week 5 bye, KC should handle the reeling LA Chargers before Walker suits up for a revenge game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.
- 🔮 Final record prediction: 14-3
❤️ San Francisco 49ers: Arguably the best-coached team in the league, the Niners continue to stack wins despite a myriad of injuries. And they’re not just eking out dubs — they’re dominating, beating teams by an NFL–best 14.5 points over the first four weeks. QB Brock Purdy has been anything but irrelevant, and a top-three scoring defense sure helps, too.
- Could the Niners match the 1972 Miami Dolphins’ perfect season? It’s possible, especially if they can get through this Sunday’s tilt vs. the Seahawks, their biggest test this month.
- 🔮 Final record prediction: 16-1
💜 Minnesota Vikings: And then there’s the Vikings. Let’s make one thing clear: This defense has been stellar, limiting teams to just 12.8 points per game. That said, the offense is another story entirely. Minnesota’s just the third team in NFL history to start a season 4-0 without scoring an offensive TD in multiple games.
- Injured WR Justin Jefferson missed Week 4, but the offensive issues run deeper than that: QB Kyler Murray hasn’t looked comfy in head coach Kevin O’Connell’s system in his last two starts — a major cause for concern as the schedule ramps up.
- 🔮 Final record prediction: a generous 11-6
🏈 Your NFL know-how could win you $100. One GISTer pulled it off last week in our free-to-play NFL Weekly Pick’ems game and walked away with a $100 NFL Shop gift card (and season-long bragging rights).
- ⚙️ Here’s how it works: Every week, you choose the winner of all 16 matchups. No buy-in, no complicated rules — it’s just you and your picks.
First time? Not a problem. A new round starts every week, and you can jump right in. The only catch is that you make your picks before Thursday’s 8:15 p.m. ET matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys.

1. San Francisco 49ers (4-0) ❤️
Purdy’s thrown 113 passes this season and has yet to be sacked.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) 💛
One of the best backfields in football is living up to its reputation.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) 🐆
The Jags are allowing a mere 13.3 points per game. Not too shabby.
♨️ Drought conditions expected to continue
Five teams remain winless: the LA Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Only one team has ever flipped an 0-4 start into a playoff berth: the 1992 San Diego Chargers, who won 11 of their 12 remaining games after dropping their first four.
- One of these struggling squads is guaranteed a victory in Week 5 because the Texans and Titans play each other Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Think you know which team will snag that elusive first dub? Put your football know-how to the test.
Until next week — may your team’s offense always find the endzone,
