Tomorrow, the men’s Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and its new women’s arm, the Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL), will be playing the sport’s first-ever match on a river — a stunt tied to mutual brand partner Whirlpool.

On Wednesday, Athletes Unlimited (AU) announced it’s indefinitely suspending its AU Pro Lacrosse league. After jumpstarting opportunities in four sports — softball, basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball — within the past four years, this is the first time the company has suspended operations for one of its leagues.

On Wednesday, the men’s Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) launched the Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL), a new pro women’s league set to take the field in February 2025.
