The GIST: Even with a bonus day, last weekend didn’t have enough hours to keep up with all the national titles being bestowed. Here’s what you missed while you were dusting off your flip-flops and grilling burgers on the beach.

🎾 Tennis: A whopping four tennis ’ships concluded on Saturday. Ohio State’s No. 16 doubles pair Andrew Lutschaunig and James Trotter avenged a team final loss with a dub in the men’s bracket, while UNC’s No. 11 Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig beat their own teammates (!!!) to take the women’s trophy, snagging their program’s second natty in a week.

  • Two youngsters took the singles titles: UCLA’s No. 14 freshman Fangran Tian tore through the women’s bracket to snag the win, and Georgia’s No. 2 redshirt freshman Ethan Quinn met high expectations in the men’s. The future? Bright as hell.

🚣 Rowing: Stanford’s finally the bride! The No. 4 Cardinal sailed to their second national championship and first since 2009 on Sunday. The win tasted twice as sweet after playing runner-up to Texas in both the 2021 and 2022 finals. Way to row, ladies.

🥍 Women’s lacrosse: The No. 1 seed Northwestern Wildcats ended an 11-year drought by bagging their eighth program ’ship on Sunday. The Wildcats mercilessly pounded No. 3 Boston College 18–6, outshooting them by a staggering 42-19. Meanwhile, fifth-year Izzy Scane advanced her Tewaaraton campaign (lax’s Heisman) with four goals. Wildcats, everywhere!

🥍 Men’s lacrosse: Also making a case for a Tewaaraton is senior attacker Pat Kavanagh, who led the No. 3 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish to their first-ever natty on Sunday. The Irish defeated No. 1 Duke, avenging their losses to the Blue Devils in the 2010 and 2014 finals. Best served cold, eh, boys?
