The NCAA football polls shakes up once again

The GIST: Heisman hopefuls weren't the only ones fighting for their football lives this weekend: Between four Top-25 upsets by unranked foes and three undefeated seasons down the drain, Division I served up plenty of blockbuster action on Saturday.

Pitt upsets then–No. 14 Louisville 38–21: Jeff Brohm's Louisville Cardinals were so hot, the first-year HC was already being hailed as a sleeper pick for Coach of the Year…until his team absolutely imploded against an embattled Pitt crew, causing a seven-spot poll tumble yesterday. Woof.

Then–No. 18 UCLA loses steam: The Bruins were another scorching-hot up-and-comer, but the tables turned when Oregon State chewed up UCLA’s much-lauded defense, nabbing the 36–24 win.

Arizona is…good?: The Wildcats took then–No. 9 USC to triple-OT last week in what seemed like a fluke. But now that Arizona decimated then–No. 19 Washington State 44–6? These Wildcats are everywhere.

Then–No. 23 Kansas hops off the hype train at Oklahoma State: OSU put the basketball blue bloods in their place, handing Kansas their second loss to banish them from the Top 25 after a historic season start. Don't worry Jayhawks, hoops season’s right around the corner.

Missouri regains their groove against then–No. 24 Kentucky: These two programs have been fighting for a leg up in the SEC power vacuum. Mizzou lost some shine with last week's L to LSU, but they found their luster, and a No. 20 rank, with Saturday’s 38-21 shellacking of Kentucky.
