No, you’re not reliving the same day again — co-hosts Ellen Hyslop and Steph Rotz are back with yet another WTF-filled episode of The GIST of It. The second pertains to another hot button topic: sportswashing. Saudi Arabia will reportedly sponsor July’s Women’s World Cup leaving teams and fans alike outraged given the nation’s appalling human rights record.

Happy NGWSD eve!

Tomorrow marks the 37th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, but here at The GIST of It, it’s a year-round party. On today’s episode, co-hosts Ellen Hyslop and Steph Rotz are celebrating by digging into two of the biggest storylines in women’s sports this week: WNBA free agency and NWSL expansion.

W players can officially ink deals starting tomorrow, but one big name (hi, Candace Parker!) is already on the move, with rumors swirling about where the remaining stars on the market might land. El and Steph discuss the latest, then get candid on whyplayers might be, ahem, flying to specific squads.

Then after the break, cue that confetti for some very exciting NWSL news: expansion! The league is set to add at least three teams in the coming years, and the increased expansion fees might be the most celebration-worthy news of all.
