🏀 WNBA: Already a trailblazer on NBA sidelines, former WNBA player Becky Hammon forged a new path with the recent announcement that she’d be returning to the W as head coach of the Las Vegas Aces.

  • Not only is her record-setting annual salary reportedly worth over $1 million, it also signals a massive shift that demonstrates coaching women’s sports as the goal, rather than a stepping stone.

⚾️ MLB: In January, Rachel Balkovec became the first-ever female minor league manager when she was tapped to lead the NY Yankees' Low-A affiliate club, the Tampa Tarpons.

  • As the first full-time female hitting coach in an MLB organization, Balkovec’s hiring is over a decade in the making. Can’t wait to watch her shine on the diamond when the Tarpons open their season next month.

🎓 NCAA: 🥎 Last month, Michigan head coach Carol Hutchins notched her 1,675th career win, surpassing former Arizona and longtime USA Softball coach Mike Candrea to become the winningest coach in NCAA softball history.

  • 🏀 And on the hardwood, Stanford’s Tara VanDerveer — already the winningest coach in NCAA women’s hoops — recorded her 1,000th dub with the Cardinal this past weekend. Nothing we love more than women winning.
