The GIST: Sorry to South Florida, but the Denver Nuggets and Vegas Golden Knights are both just one win away from their respective first-ever NBA and NHL ’ships. So close they can taste it.

NBA Finals: Friday’s Game 4 was a real knockout. Nuggets fans held their breath as two-time MVP Nikola Jokić was sent to the bench after picking up his fifth foul with more than nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter, but Jamal Murray held down the fort, helping Denver hold on for the 108–95 win over the Miami Heat, and the 3-1 series lead.

  • Only one team has evercome back from such a deficit to win the NBA Finals, but Jimmy Butler and the perennial underdog Heat still believe. It’s all eyes on Game 5 from Denver, tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Stanley Cup Final: Thanks in large part to goalie Adin Hill’s heroics, the Vegas Golden Knights secured a 3–2 Game 4 win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

  • Leading 3-1, Vegas now has a chance to hoist their first-ever Cup on home ice tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET, but you can’t count out the Panthers just yet, even with star Matthew Tkachuk’s (pronounced kuh-CHUCK) status TBD. Cats have nine lives, after all.
