Catching up on Week 7 of the NFL season
The GIST: Week 7 is (almost) in the books, ahead of tonight’s 8:15 p.m. ET Monday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. With plenty of gridiron action to celebrate on this victory Monday, it’s a good thing secret handshakes never go out of style.
Celebrate good times: The best pass catchers and blockers in the league brought the heat during yesterday’s National Tight Ends (TEs) Day festivities, with six TEs making it to the endzone. No gimmicks here.
Stick to the status quo: Quarterback (QB) Patrick Mahomes did Patrick Mahomes things against the LA Chargers yesterday, tossing for four touchdowns (TDs) and 424 yards in his squad’s 31–17 win.
A big one in the win column: New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick silenced the haters, recording his 300th regular-season win with yesterday’s 29–25 dub over their AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills.
Hat trick: Chicago Bears running back D’Onta Foreman tallied a trifecta of TDs — including catching rookie QB Tyson Bagent’s first NFL TD — as da Bears dominated the Las Vegas Raiders 30–12 yesterday.
Iron man injury: Due to lingering rib and hip injuries, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf missed a game for the first time in his five-year NFL career yesterday, snapping his consecutive game streak at 71.
