The GIST: Sleep schedules and time zones be damned, there’s been a full court press of WNBA news in the last few days. No rest for the weary women’s sports fan.

The GOAT stands alone: With this shot in last night’s 91–71 win over the Atlanta Dream, Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi became the first player in WNBA history to reach 10,000 career points, adding yet another incredible record to her already Mount Rushmore–worthy list of accomplishments. Not bad for a walking fossil.

Skylar Diggins-Smith speaks out: Elsewhere in Phoenix, DT’s teammate Diggins-Smith, who’s been out on maternity leave this season, tweeted yesterday that she’s been unable to use the team’s practice facility or resources while on leave.

  • These claims come after former Las Vegas Ace turned LA Spark Dearica Hamby said earlier this year that the Aces discriminated against her for being pregnant. Shameful.

Las Vegas Aces clinch playoff spot: No, your calendar isn’t wrong — with Tuesday’s 93–72 win over the Dream, the defending champ Aces became the first team to clinch a postseason berth, a full six weeks before the playoffs tip off. Superteam doing super things.
