Who has the upper hand in Game 2 of the WNBA finals?
The GIST: After Sunday’s come-from-behind Game 1 win, the No. 1 Las Vegas Aces are in the driver’s seat as they contend for their second consecutive WNBA championship. That said, the No. 2 NY Liberty aren’t strangers to pulling off a postseason comeback of their own. Cue the drama.
Game 2 preview: Sorry to the MVP showdown, but this series is all about the guards. The Aces will be counting on a repeat performance from their fearsome backcourt trio of Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young, who all put up at least 20 points on Sunday.
- As for NY, they’ll need Sabrina Ionescu — who Las Vegas stifled in Game 1 — and the rest of the squad to show up through all four quarters if they want to even this series up.
- But if there’s one thing to know, it’s that the Libs learn from their mistakes — the seafoamers haven’t dropped two back-to-back games the entire season.
The stakes: To put it bluntly, they’re sky high — no WNBA team has ever fought back from a 0-2 deficit to win a best-of-five playoff series, so make like LeBron and get in on the record-setting action by tuning in tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
