Ready to help level the playing field? The GIST is hiring an Account Manager to join our Client Solutions team, which sits within our broader partnerships ecosystem. In this role, you'll lead the execution and activation of brand partnerships from start to finish — managing timelines, coordinating internal teams, and ensuring seamless campaign delivery. You’ll also play a key role in reporting on performance, gathering insights, and building strong client relationships that foster renewals and long-term growth.

The GIST is a women-founded startup that creates sports content, experiences and community that are by women and for all sports fans through our free, localized 4x-weekly newsletter, 3x-weekly sports biz newsletter, 3x-weekly college sports newsletter, daily social media and twice-weekly podcast.

Our vision is to become the go-to source for sports for underserved fans.

Since launching across North America in September 2019, our community has grown to over 1M+ GISTers, and we have worked with brands like Nike, Netflix, and State Farm.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the execution of brand partnerships across all activation channels (newsletter, social media, podcast, in-person, etc.)
  • Serving as a liaison between our content and partnerships teams to ensure an understanding of what partnerships have been agreed to, and how these can come to life across channels (e.g., inventory availability, sport/content alignment)
  • Project managing internal and external stakeholders, including understanding partnership objectives, and working with content and operations team members to ensure deliverables are created and executed by the deadline
  • Reviewing all content for best practices, quality control, and alignment to client briefs and expectations
  • Preparing engagement reporting and analytics, including regular updates and wrap reports, consolidating results and KPIs to be reviewed with all brand partners
  • Identifying opportunities to re-engage our existing partners by understanding their marketing and strategy, and aligning their efforts to upcoming campaigns with The GIST
  • Partnering with our partnerships team to support on research, account planning, and benchmarking to ensure we are thoughtfully creating plans to meet each partner’s objectives
  • Providing support on other pre-sale activities as required, including developing media plans, supporting business development activities, or contributing to proposals or other materials
  • Supporting and leading internal projects as required, which could include supporting our merchandise business, job board, internal/external events, or preparing partner communications

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience across sales, customer success/account management, marketing, or operations. Experience in writing, digital content creation, or social production is a plus
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with an ability to proactively identify solutions to potential roadblocks or challenges on engagements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to independently lead client calls and draft client communications (emails, presentations, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of the sports industry and The GIST’s products, with an ability to advise on campaigns and communicate across stakeholder groups
  • Strong prioritization skills, with an ability to work quickly and efficiently, adapting to changing priorities as they arise; comfort with ambiguity
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude, bringing energy to both internal and external conversations; confidence to speak up and provide input on internal and external processes
  • Ownership and client-first mindset, with an ability to internalize the outcomes we are striving to achieve for our clients, audience, and business
  • Baseline comfort with data (e.g., Google Sheets), with a focus on understanding and developing campaign metrics and media plans
  • Comfort navigating a fast-paced, startup environment where flexibility, initiative, and wearing multiple hats is the norm
  • Growth mindset with a drive to learn new skills, identify new opportunities, and proactively step into new projects
  • Passion for our space and mission, and an ability to positively contribute to a culture of inclusion, ownership, and accountability
